Impacted Wisdom Tooth

The nurse did ask me "you look so calm... are you ready?"

I don't know why I was that calm/brave either. I felt no fear.

The anaesthetic is slowly wearing off... and the pain's setting in.

You should see me bleeding- still is. Then again, it's all too gore!
For your sake, I shall keep the bloody goodness to myself!
Anyway, if you're a woman, the bloody sight shouldn't be a problem...
Ah well, at least this is one moment I am glad I was born a woman.

Well, blogging here distracts me from the pain.

So, who here had the same experience
or BETTER YET...

WILL BE EXPERIENCING THIS?

I had two of my lower wisdom teeth to make way for my braces years ago, and the experience was scary. I could feel the dentist "cut" my tooth into 4 parts and "scoop" the parts one by one. And I could feel her stitching up my gum too!

And the craziest part was, I had to go back 2 weeks later to have the procedure repeated! LOL.

actually why wanna take out the wisdom teeth leh?? my lower both is having slow growth...sometimes it itches n pain...

Pou Leen said...

@Jian: DON'T do it! You've been warned!

@Pelf: TWICE? No way! Once's more than enough!

@Diana: It's impacted, as in growing across horizontally- hitting the moral next to it, so it has to be extracted!

YOU REMOVE YOUR WISDOM TOOTH?????? That must've hurt like hell! I got my back molar tooth extracted and it bleed so badly and I regret my decision until now... But is it necessary to cut the tooth before extracting, and sew it? Because my molar tooth was extracted without any of those and I was fine with only some pills they gave me

I have one growing very slowly currently. Sometimes it hurt my jaw but the dentist say it is growing alright =\

I had this done last year, but 4 at once! It was one of the worst experiences of my life, I couldn't close my mouth for a week and my face was swollen for a month! And then after 2 months it got infected. Traumatising!
Most peoples experience isn't like this though luckily. My advice is to do the salt water mouth wash often.

I don't even know whether I have a wisdom tooth! Lol.

It sure looks painful tho :P

why only take it out now when it's so freaking BIG?!?!?!?!??

>_<" Oh nooo... I've got to remove 2 some more *sobs* and I think mine is as big as yours! The dentist showed me the x-ray previously, now he's awaiting my confirmation to do it... I wonder if I would be as calm as you...

Yeah, did it once too! My wisdom tooth was giving me hell of pain! *sobs* I rmb trying to downplay the pain, cos I didn't want to go to the dentist. But my mum forced me to. And I totally regretted it when the dentist told me it was cos of my wisdom tooth, and extracting it would require "minor surgery"--scared me to death! T.T

The anaesthesia helped, but it still hurt AFTER, and my jaw was soooo sore :(

And having had braces, the teeth-removing part was a norm. Still, the pain, you just never get used to it >.<

how come section by section wan? the dentist broke it issit? lol..

i extracted a wisdom tooth before... then also extracted 4 teeth for braces within 1 week :P

Pou Leen said...

@Ken: Hahaha.. because my tooth's slanted, and burried waaaaay back in, so he can't pull it all out at once, and have to do it by sections, also because my tooth's located very near some nerve of something- according to the x-ray. And yes, I'd have to remove like 6 teeth (2 wisdom 4 molar) if I were to go for braces, or so the dentist said XD A lot of teeth indeed!

@Jeffro: You wouldn't have to do it, unless it is giving you problems. Mine is.

@Liz: I can take pain, but I can't take that my face's still swollen. I look like the Apps that makes your face fat, because my face is swollen like that now! zomg...

mine's on the verge of being so. Currently, I got a big problem whilst eating. Food get stuck at the molars, and it takes me a while to rid of the annoyance each time.

Doc's advice "If you don't remove the abnormal molars, you'll soon lose your existing ones.. I give it 6-12 months, depending on how you take care of your teeth"

That's scary! It's like i have 6-12 months left of life!! O_O

WHOA MY GOD. I had to do the exact same thing just a couple of months back and God it was the most painful dental visit I ever had. It took triple the anaesthetic to keep me quiet!
